Bailey Island

Bailey Island

Linked by one of the world’s only cribstone bridges, Bailey Island, of Harpswell connects locals & visitors alike to a true Maine way of living.  Home to several restaurants, many ingredients are pulled right from the sea in this generational fishing village.  With miles and miles of rocky Maine coastline, Bailey Island properties without a view or water access are few and far between.

Orr's Island

Orr's Island

Though Harpswell has over 200 offshore islands, Orr’s Island connects Harpswell’s three large islands, Great Island (Sebascodegan), to its north, and Bailey Island to its south. Not merely a passthrough, Orr’s Island offers hiking trails & water access via town landings. Properties tend to lend themselves to more privacy & acreage while still being a short distance to waterfront, or homes perched right along the ledges themselves.

Harpswell Neck

Harpswell Neck

Harpswell Neck is filled with public amenities that make those perfect Maine memories easily accessible. From walking trails to public beaches & land preserves, the outdoor recreation draws people to the area for seaside meandering & ocean air savoring.

Great Island

Great Island

Great Island (also known as Sebascodegan Island) is the most central part of Harpswell. Equidistant to town & sea, Great Island is home to the town office, local elementary school, walking trails & Trufant Summerton Recreation Field as well as the Great Island Boat Yard.

Cundy's Harbor

Cundy's Harbor

Set on the eastern side of Harpswell’s Great Island (Sebascodegan), Cundy’s Harbor is tucked along the New Meadows River. The harbor is home to many active commercial fishing wharves and is often described as the quieter side of town.

Brunswick / Topsham

Brunswick / Topsham

When a Harpswellian says, “I’m headed to town!” they are almost always referring to Brunswick or Topsham! The two towns lie on either side of the Frank J. Wood Bridge (also referred to locally as, The Green Bridge). The bridge system connecting the two towns is currently being updated, however, what will remain consistent for many years to come are the two historic buildings that bookend The Brunswick Falls Dam; Fort Andross, originally constructed as a trading post for fur trappers & garrison, on the Brunswick side, and on the Topsham side, The Bowdoin Mill, a former wood pulp processing plant & paper mill. Both buildings are now restored and renovated into businesses and serve as a symbol of the beautiful spirit of this area for preserving historic beauty, while adapting and breathing new life for modern day times.

Bath / Phippsburg

Bath / Phippsburg

Referred to fondly as The City of Ships, Bath falls just North of Brunswick along Route 1. Home to General Dynamics Bath Iron Works, this historic seaside port sits at the mouth of the Kennebec River. Taking a walk on Front Street in downtown Bath with its brick laid buildings, or driving North on Washington Street seeing the grand colonial style homes of former Captains will take you back in time.

Arrowsic / Georgetown

Arrowsic / Georgetown

Over the river and through the woods, to one of Maine’s best kept coastal secrets you go! Headed North on Route 1, just across the Kennebec River from Bath, you will bear right to Route 127 to Arrowsic & Georgetown. Home to Reid State Park, the landscape beckons those yearning for the quintessential Maine coastline - where the pines stand tall on rocky ledges, and the rocky ledges kiss the wide sand beaches and sea.

Freeport

Freeport

Most people find Freeport synonymous with “L.L. Bean” or “Outlet shopping.” The amenity of Freeport center with its ample shopping & seasonal events through L.L. Bean & community center are a wonderful draw to this sweet town. But wait... There’s more!Wolfe’s Neck Farm and the vast Freeport community Trail system increase the draw for outdoor lovers. Freeport’s commitment to preservation is reflected in their many conservation areas & estuaries as well as their strong non-profit organizations dedication to The Freeport Historical Society. The history is as rich as the beauty in this seaside village.

Living in Maine

Autumn in Maine

Autumn in Maine

After the hustle and bustle of Summer, when the kids return to school and the vacationers return to home to face reality, Mainers start to take a few moments longer to breathe in the changing air. You feel it as soon as it hits, the absence of the summer haze and humidity, and the new presence of a cooler clearer breath.

Winter in Maine

Winter in Maine

As the holiday season comes to an end, the frozen earth calls for blankets of snow. The stillness is deafening, beckoning rest and rejuvenation as nature enters its season of hibernation. Mainers welcome this time as one for communion and connection with those they missed during the busy warmer months.

Spring in Maine

Spring in Maine

In like a lion, out like a lamb. What begins the season as grays and browns, seemingly transforms to capture every color under the rainbow in a matter of weeks; comparable to Dorothy waking up in technicolor in the Wizard of Oz.

Summer in Maine

Summer in Maine

Ready… Set… GO! The buzz of Summer can be felt wherever you go. The long awaited excitement from Mainers is palpable; undeniable, and inspiring.
