Referred to fondly as The City of Ships, Bath falls just North of Brunswick along Route 1. Home to General Dynamics Bath Iron Works, this historic seaside port sits at the mouth of the Kennebec River. Taking a walk on Front Street in downtown Bath with its brick laid buildings, or driving North on Washington Street seeing the grand colonial style homes of former Captains will take you back in time. Downtown Bath is frequented by locals and visitors alike for its charming shops & restaurants as well as its river side park overlooking the Kennebec.

Bath is a mere 10 minute drive to Brunswick, and 30-40 minute drive to Portland. As interest in the Casco Bay Portland area has expanded, so too has Bath’s Portland suburb status for those working closer to the city.

Heading South on Route 209 will take you to Phippsburg, Sebasco Harbor and Popham State Park.  Popham Beach is a summer favorite, as it always, without fail, gives you the classic Maine beach day you waited for all winter long.  Other places to explore are Head Beach at Hermit Island Campground, Morse Mountain Trail, Fort Popham, Seawall Beach & Sebasco Harbor Resort.
