Long days of boating at the lake or on the sea, watersports abound Kayaks, canoes, paddleboards and water skis fly out of their winter storage and into the waves. The energy stirs with new life as vacationers flock from every corner of the country; people eager to get that sweet taste of a Maine Summer. Outdoor lovers come in droves to take part in Maine’s many camping, hiking and recreational areas.
The early bird gets the worm, Maine is the state to see first light. The beauty of this state shines from dawn to dusk and beyond. The lupine lined roadways and rosa rugosa beach roses remind you at every turn that you’re right where you should be; in Maine. The sweet humid air draws the scent of the pines and the salty sea to produce a feeling that can only be felt here; this is “The way life should be.”
Maine State agricultural fairs kick off at the start of the season. Other public events such as Rockland’s Maine Lobster Festival, Yarmouth Clam Festival and L.L. Bean’s Summer in the Park concert series are well attended events; some may even consider staples of summer. Summer in Maine is really nothing less than people coming together in celebration of the spirit of the state.
